Eon Collective was started with the collaboration of technology visionaries who have worked side by side for over two decades. As experts in data modernization, and a Snowflake Partner, Eon Collective have helped countless organizations accelerate their migration to the cloud. As part of the modernization initiative, Eon Collective uses SqlDBM, an online database modeling tool.

Snowflake users understand better than most that a technology migrated to the cloud is not the same as one custom-built for it. SqlDBM was architected in the cloud to be as performant and maintenance-free as the cloud data platforms it supports. This means Eon can dive into modeling fast, with nothing to install, and share their designs with the customer in real-time through a web-based interface.
Modern modeling methodologies, like Data Vault, are also supported, allowing Eon Collective to deliver scalable warehouse designs to their clients. Using table templates and Data Vault supported colors, SqlDBM projects offer a speedy on-ramp to Data Vault modeling – with dedicated automation features coming soon.
Tables are the foundation of relational modeling. But relational modeling alone does not fully capture the dynamic nature of the modern data warehouse. In their designs, Eon Collective uses a variety of SqlDBM’s supported database objects to paint a complete picture.
For example, SqlDBM diagrams allow views to live side-by-side with tables through corresponding virtual relationships. Data pipelines and transformations can also be visualized by allowing functions and stored procedures to sit alongside referenced data sources and targets.
SqlDBM manages views, procedures, and all database-specific objects natively as part of a project. This means they all benefit from DevOps features like change comparison and version control as well as Governance components like documentation, discovery, and flagging.
Model Governance is notoriously challenging to impose after the fact. However, when model governance starts at the beginning of a project, it becomes an asset – guiding the design and ensuring consistency. SqlDBM flags enable data stewards to track sensitive data for compliance, discovery, and protection. Flags can be set on any diagram object and at the column level for complete flexibility. Flagging enables the entire project team to filter and search by assigned flag values to find the data they need. Paired with the data dictionary, flags and functional details can be referenced and viewed from a single place. By making governance a priority early on and administering it directly from the modeling tool, Eon Collective ensures that no functional debt remains after deployment.
